NHL

With the long-rumoured deal that has Patrick Kane officially joining the New York Rangers a few days before the deadline, just about all of the biggest names on the block have already moved. With New York adding Kane and Vladimir Tarasenko oddsmakers have moved their Stanley Cup odds from +1400 earlier this month to around +1000. Just ahead of them on the board are the New Jersey Devils at +959 after they landed Timo Meirer. The Devils and Rangers seem to be headed for a very interesting first-round matchup in the playoffs. The Toronto Maple Leafs look like a much stronger team after adding Ryan O’Reilly and they sit at +746.

When it comes to scoring props, Connor McDavid is keeping oddsmakers busy. He scored his 50th goal of the season in just his 61st game this week. The books have him finishing with 56-60 goals at +384, 61-65 at +176, 65-70 at +147 and more than 70 at +355. Also, after Bruins goaltender Linus Ullmark scored an empty net goal last weekend, the odds of another goalie tickling the twin this season aren’t great at +8000.

NBA

The NBA playoff race is in full swing and the Toronto Raptors remain in the thick of it. They have won eight of their last 10 to pull into ninth spot in the Eastern Conference, so they’re in line for a spot in the play-in tournament at moment. Oddsmakers have the Raps making the playoffs at +114 and them missing out at -152. Following another interesting trade deadline, the Boston Celtics are favourites to win the championship at +189, followed by the Phoenix Suns at +284, the Milwaukee Bucks at +326, and the Denver Nuggets at +470.

UFC

Jon “Bones” Jones makes his long-awaited return to UFC action this week as he steps right into a title fight in his first bout as a heavyweight. Jones, who hasn’t fought since 2020, has bulked up considerably and is a -195 favourite in UFC 285’s main event against Ciryl Gane (+150). The 32-year-old Gane has a 11-1 record. Early action is coming in from Jones supporters. They like him to win by KO, TKO or DQ at +350. In the co-main event, Valentina Shevchenko is a huge -725 favourite to retain her flyweight belt against Alexa Grasso (+455). Shevchenko has reeled off nine straight wins since her last loss back in 2017 and is a popular pick on parlay cards again this weekend.
